My approach

Much of who we are today is encoded in us long before we are able to consciously remember and verbally recall it. How we react to the world, relationships, or stress is often the result of old strategies for survival and being in the world – encoded not only in the mind, but also in the body.

In body-oriented psychotherapy, you learn to read these patterns and, over time, to change them – so that you can experience life with a greater sense of security, agency, and deep connection with yourself and others. We strive to ensure that your body supports you in being in the world in a new way, rather than keeping you in old patterns; even if you have been trying to make changes for a long time by working with your mind.

Depending on what you need and what will serve you, we will draw on the various methods I work with.

Bodynamic™

Bodynamic is a method of somatic psychotherapy that integrates knowledge about human psychological and motor development. It assumes that our life experiences are encoded in the body, mainly in muscle reactivity, influencing our reactions, relationships, and functioning. Work in this approach involves strengthening specific psycho-physical resources that are needed to break out of old patterns and regain control over one’s life.

Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP)

DMP (Dance Movement Psychotherapy) is a form of psychotherapy that uses movement as a tool for expressing emotions, establishing contact with oneself and others, and supporting the process of change. At the center of this work is the body as a vehicle for our experiences and emotions. It is not about dance in the everyday sense, but about authentic movement resulting from internal impulses, which allows us to reach what is unconscious and unexpressed.

Somatic Experiencing™ (SE)

Somatic Experiencing is an approach developed by Peter Levine, aimed at alleviating the effects of trauma by working with the nervous system. SE is based on observing subtle signals from the body, helping to restore balance after shock or overwhelming experiences. It is a gentle method that provides space for the gradual recovery of a sense of security, agency, and vitality.
