About me

My name is Hanna Strzałkowska.

I am a certified psychotherapist specializing in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMT/DMP), working in body-oriented approaches, and I believe that where the psyche, body, and relationship meet, profound change can occur.

Since 2017, I have been conducting individual and group psychotherapy as well as development workshops. I combine the approaches of Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMT/DMP), Bodynamic™, and Somatic Experiencing™ in a way that is tailored to each person.

I have completed two four-year psychotherapy trainings and a three-year training in shock trauma and chronic stress therapy. I am constantly learning, translating psychotherapy trainings (english translations), sometimes speaking at psychotherapy conferences, and since 2025, I have also been teaching others. I am a member of several professional associations and the vice president of one of them. Below you will find more details about my personal, educational, and professional journey, as well as the organizations in which I am actively involved and affiliated.

In my work, I combine the mental, physical, and relational aspects with mindfulness and empathy. I create a space that encourages you to truly feel yourself – not only to understand, but also to embody the changes you desire.

My path to body oriented psychotherapy

I embarked on my personal development journey in 2008, while still a student. From the very beginning, I combined my own psychological work with various forms of mindfull physical activity (dance, yoga). This combination of learning about and experiencing myself from a psychological, physical, and spiritual perspective brought about incredible changes in my life and allowed me to shed a burden I wasn’t even aware of. It was then that I first clearly felt that I would like to share this with others someday.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as a researcher in social projects and marketing research agencies. I enjoyed collecting data, analyzing it thoroughly, and drawing conclusions that were useful to others. I found joy in carrying out projects, working in a team, and achieving goals. I worked in social projects and business for 15 years. However, working in front of a computer, I quickly felt that this style of work could not be my only way of life – I like people and deep contact with them. Since childhood, I have enjoyed listening to others, creating a safe space for them, and supporting them in reaching for what is important to them. Due to my experiences, it was clear to me from the beginning that I wanted to learn psychotherapeutic approaches that holistically combine knowledge about the mind and body.

In 2013, I began my first 4-year psychotherapy training in Dance Movement Psychotherapy, and since then I have been consistently following the path of expanding my knowledge and experience with methods that combine an understanding of the connection between the psyche and the body.
